SHORT CAKE

Ingredients

2-cups of flour
Baking powder, 4 tablespoons
14 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of sugar
Butter, two tablespoons
Shortening, two tablespoons

Cut in the shortening and butter.
7/8 cups of half and half
Brushing shortcakes with melted butter
Berries
Whipping cream or ice cream

Directions

1) 450° oven heat.
2) Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a large mixing basin.

3) Cut in the shortening and butter.
4) Add half-and-half and stir.
5) Spoon the mixture onto a baking sheet in big spoonfuls.
6) Apply butter to the surface and then sprinkle with sugar.
7) Bake for fifteen minutes, or until golden.
8) Let cool, then top with whipped cream, fruit, or ice cream.
